ANARKISS: Advertising Policy

ANARKISS is an independent, queer-run publication rooted in anarchic politics, punk aesthetics, and DIY culture.

We welcome advertising from individuals, businesses, collectives, and projects that share or respect our values.

What We Accept

  • Queer-owned or queer-led businesses
  • Radical, political, punk, or DIY projects
  • Independent publishers, zines, and record labels
  • Tattoo studios, artists, and creative practitioners
  • Ethical small businesses and cooperatives
  • Community spaces, venues, and cultural initiatives

Ads should feel relevant to our readers and sit comfortably alongside queer, political, and anti-normative content.

What We Do Not Accept

  • Corporations or brands that exploit labour or communities
  • Companies involved in arms, policing, surveillance, prisons, or border enforcement
  • Organisations promoting racism, fascism, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, ableism, or any form of bigotry
  • Political parties, state institutions, or government bodies
  • Brands engaging in pinkwashing or performative “Pride” marketing
  • Crypto, NFTs, gambling, or extractive finance schemes

ANARKISS reserves the right to refuse any ad that conflicts with our ethics, even if it technically fits another category.

Design & Content Guidelines

  • Ads may be text-based or image-based
  • Political content is welcome; hate speech is not
  • Sexual content is acceptable where consensual and non-exploitative
  • ANARKISS may request minor edits for clarity, legality, or alignment

We are happy to work with advertisers who don’t have a polished ad — DIY is encouraged.

Ad rates for ANARKISS range from £50–£200 per issue depending on size and placement, with solidarity pricing available for grassroots and unfunded projects.

Advertising in ANARKISS is about keeping independent queer publishing alive, not extracting value from a community. We treat advertisers as collaborators, not clients.
