MINERVA Campbell

Minerva is an illustration artist who uses a selection of odd and uncanny characters to narrate a world that is created as a warped reflection of the world we live in. These characters exist in this twisted reality playing with the idea of remaining vulnerable and authentic in a society that is so greedy and demanding of us.

gEORGIA MC LAUGHLIN

Georgia is a 23 year old recently graduated fashion design student based in Northern Ireland. Her work, having grown up in Derry, (a place within which politics is deeply ingrained into the fabric of the people, from The Troubles to now), is heavily influenced by politics. Georgia has recently been using art to express her distaste for the Israeli apartheid machine. Alongside this, she also uses art to explore her own realisations of her sexuality and what that means for her as an Irish woman- ‘Navigating bisexuality, how I present to the world, and challenging the rhetoric around how gay women should look/think/act.’

luci Druidica

Luci, a South London born writer, imagines a reality where tech and nature combine to create harmonies and hell. Falling into the genres of Techno Pagan, Solar Punk and Queering Ecology, her writing
takes aim at censored and controlled social networks, showing up with queerness, anti-establishment and anti-capitalism values. ‘I am writing for the Druids of the now and of the future.’ The poem included in this zine is part of Luci’s wider Poetry Anthology in development: ‘Cyber Druidica’, an imagining of a future reality that may not be so far out, where humans use tech for magical connections with nature.

Sebastian Lloyd is a writer from South East London who has trouble leaving places. He runs a poetry and music open mic at All is Joy studios in Soho, London. His fear of leaving will shortly experience its biggest challenge yet as he prepares to move to Barcelona, Spain. Clara ada Mantegazza

Clara Ada is a London-based Italian poet, playwright, curator, host and producer of poetry nights and workshops. She exclusively writes in English and is a member of Gobjaw Poetry Collective. She writes poems centred around intimacy, the female experience, alienation and liberation from internalised patriarchal structures. 

Nicola de Vera

Nicola (she/her) is a queer Filipino writer based in Los Angeles. Her stories have appeared or are forthcoming in New World Writing, A Thin Slice of Anxiety, Exist Otherwise, Corporeal, Writers Resist, and elsewhere. She holds a BA in Communication from Ateneo de Manila University and an MBA from Cornell University.

Audrey is the author of What Blooms in the Dark (ELJ Editions, 2024), Parts of Speech: A Disabled Dictionary (Alien Buddha Press, 2023), and In My Next Queer Life, I Want to Be (kith books, 2023). She is a queer/genderqueer and disabled writer and can be found at AudreyTCarrollWrites.com.

Sam is an emerging Fine Artist from Surrey. With a passion for vibrant colours and bold brushstrokes, she creates fresh and colourful works by layering a diverse range of mixed media. Art has been Sam’s lifelong love, with early doodles paving the way for studies in Theatre Design at Arts University Bournemouth. Working on film and theatre productions across the UK enriched Sam’s creativity. A degree in Art Education from the University of Reading expanded her skills further, and 6 years of teaching has allowed her to pass her passion on to the next generation. Sam balances elements of nature, chaos, structure, and tension to create pieces inspired by the beauty and complexity of the world around us.

jodie underwood

Jodie is a British artist who explores the intersection of eroticism, gender, and queerness via digital illustration and oil painting. As a third-year painting student at the University of Brighton, their fusion of traditional oil techniques with contemporary queer themes creates surreal, maximalist pieces resonating with the queer community. Jodie’s art, informed with humour and depth, encapsulates the transgender experience. Exhibiting at venues like the Royal Academy and, more recently, a kink club during Manchester Pride. Through historical imagery intertwined with queer bodies, Jodie prompts viewers to scrutinise their internal biases, inviting introspection and dialogue.

Biz

Biz has been writing poetry since they were a kid to make sense of the world around them, more and more they’re using poetry to break down (and mildly mock) the status quo and where they might fit within it. Over the past six months they’ve started to perform their work more regularly and recently won the Manchester Heat of the Mind Over Matter Slammer.

Carys is a London-based indie poet, currently studying art history at The Courtauld and performing her work at events across London. She has published three collections of poetry and art, and presently acts as Literary Editor for The Courtauldian. Maloney’s poetry has been published in Acumen and The Courtauldian, and she has been interviewed by Disgraceful Magazine and Uptime regarding her practice.

Kaylee is a 21 year old Northern Irish fashion student from Belfast. Taking influence from the Punk feminist movement, Riot Grrrl and iconic designers such as Westwood, Kaylee’s work explores subcultural style as she adopts a different, more political approach to fashion design.

Colin is a South London Based poet and musician. His poems address a wide range of topics, from greasy spoon cafes and malfunctioning printers to the grind of dead end jobs and abominable politicians. He is currently on a mission to deliver his rhyming rants in any open mics that will have him; an endeavour meeting with moderate success.

Ollie is a queer trans writer and illustrator. A 21 year old American student studying creative writing in York, England, they have a passion for poetry and 2-D digital illustration and use these as mediums to advocate for social justice issues, namely surrounding LGBTQ+ rights and gender equality, as well as mental health awareness and accessibility.

Roman is a 21y/o artist from the South West of England. Looking inwards, Roman finds inspiration for his work in his sense of self and trans identity, and credits the punk zines of the 80s & 90s for teaching him that you don’t have to be anyone to create anything.

Caelan John James

Caelan (he/they) is a Welsh, Edinburgh-based writer and visual artist. He graduated from Edinburgh college of art in 2023 and is part of the queer as muck artist’s collective that explores work surrounding queer ecology. Caelan writes through a neurodivergent, queer lens with an emphasis on the interlaced nature of the self with the environment.

Julia is a Polish illustrator currently residing in Brighton. Growing up as a first generation immigrant with no ability to speak English, she used drawing as a way to communicate from the age of 5. Julia draws on her experiences with the struggle of womanhood in her illustrations through metaphors, symbolism. and sharing stories through her art. 

MARIE MARSHALL

Marie (she/her) is a poet, finding the words for human experiences as she dwells in the difficulties and triumphs in what is to be human. Normal or abnormal; she attempts to bring these ideas into focus and into thought. She has been writing since the age of 17 and has been exploring the poetry scene for many years.

Sonny (they/them) is a twenty-four-year-old poet and novelist from Newquay, Cornwall. Their work draws inspiration from personal experiences with queerness, sexuality and the body, using violence, gore and occasionally explicit language as a means to express and celebrate the imperfect, the ugly, the shameful and the dirty. They write and hope to help establish a literary environment that rewards vulnerability with kindness, understanding and solidarity.

Karina is a Manchester based artist creating work that delves deep into the realms of mortality, sexuality and religious symbolism. Drawing inspiration from the intersections of life and death, their pieces often feature visceral and macabre imagery intertwined with religious iconography, offering viewers a thought provoking journey into the depths of human existence, inviting the viewer to confront their own mortality and grapple with the complexities of the human experience.

Mwelwa Chilekwa

Mwelwa is a Zambian British poet and spoken word artist who is not afraid to speak (and write) her truth. She is a regular at Newcastle’s spoken word scenes, including hosting and producing several poetry events. Mwelwa balances heavy topics with a sprinkle of levity, passionate about using her voice to raise awareness of important issues.

She has performed at The Baltic, The Northern Stage and The Lindisfarne festival. She is currently looking forward to performing at The Durham and Newcastle Fringe festivals.

Examining the evolution from old identities to the tumultuous creation of new ones, Will draws inspiration from exploring the dimensions of space and time. With an African Diaspora background, Will traverses diverse landscapes, from the rural and urban environments of Kenya, journeying from Kisumu to Nairobi, to embracing the cultural diversity of London. Immersed in the socio-political milieu of big city life, where spirituality and identity intersect and clash, Will integrates these diverse influences to develop a nuanced understanding of societal changes/the complexities of human existence.

He has always been fascinated by art, writing, music, and anything creative, and during everything he has faced from cancer to being transgender, being autistic, to mental health challenges, has been fuelled by the world around him to protest, to be thankful, to make things better…to be human.

Lewis is a writer from an impoverished upbringing in Shropshire who has a deep-rooted passion for highlighting the stories of inequality he’s seen and for promoting poetry among those from a similar background to his own. His work has been published in Dreich, streetcake, VAINE and Broken Sleep Books’ anthology on masculinity, while he’s also been featured on local radio as part of BBC Upload.

Dan is a soon to be published writer and poet from the North East of England. His first manuscript ‘Stories from The Streets’ is his first completed work, being published by Dead Mans Press Ink. DORIAN ROSE

The so-called ‘Dorian Rose’ is a homo sapiens born in the year 1998 B.C. according to the Gregorian calendar. Commonly used in their city of birth, Halifax (the one in West Yorkshire, England). Dorian is an artist, writer, proofreader, editor, trans theorist, and graphic designer. They run Transmuted, a trans project for sharing trans culture: www.transmuted.co.uk.
